The Safety Net digital security training

Mumbai

Point of View, Mumbai and Association for Progressive Communications are organising a digital security training for activists working on gender and sexuality rights. The two-day workshop would focus on threat modeling for the different participants, and identifying practical tools and habits that would help in reducing the risks to participants’ digital and overall security. Nayantara Ranganathan from the Internet Democracy Project will be facilitating some of the sessions.

Day 1 of the workshop focuses on locating security practices embedded in our everyday lives, and examining digital security through its lens. It will also include threat modeling, passwords and use of password managers, risks on dating apps and groups, and finally, smartphone security.

Day 2 of the workshop focuses on discussions about data/metadata, alternative identities, safe browsing on the web, trolls and online harassment, and lightning talks.
