National Consultation on Media Freedom and the Law

Abstract
The National Consultation is organised by the Human Rights Law Network (HRLN), the Indian Women Press Corps, the Delhi Union of Journalists, the Press Club of India, the Mumbai Press Club and the Indian Federation of Working Journalists. Anja Kovacs is speaking on the panel on Digital Media, Net Neutrality and Surveillance.
Participants in this Consultation will discuss the many ways in which journalists are coming under attack from physical assaults, sexual harassment and criminal defamation cases to the victimization of employees. Participants will also consider appropriate response to this attack on press freedom including legal measures that could be taken to protect journalists.
