Bangalore

The Digital Empowerment Foundation and Association for Progressive Communications are organising an Internet Rights Human Rights (IRHR) & Secure Online Communications (SOC) Training for human rights activists. Nayantara Ranganathan from the Internet Democracy Project will be one of the facilitators.

The training aims to enhance the knowledge & experience of human rights defenders, civil society organisations and internet activists about linkages between human rights and the digital space.

The objectives of the training are-

  • Mobilizing activists online (using ICT tools and platforms) and offline

  • To establish a baseline awareness of security by facilitating a process that enables women human rights defenders to define security, and its parameters, for themselves thereby enhancing digital security skills among them
