Internet Rights Training and Universal Periodic Review Advocacy Workshop

Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) in association with Association for Progressive Communications (APC), Amnesty International, India and supported by the European Union is organizing a four-day residential training-cum-workshop on Internet Rights and UPR Advocacy in New Delhi. Nayantara Ranganathan from the Internet Democracy Project will participate as a facilitator for the session on Digital Security Training for Human Rights Defenders on the 5th of February.

The 4‑day training aims to enhance the knowledge and experience of human rights defenders, civil society organisations and internet activists with the linkages between human rights and the digital space. It is an opportunity to gain knowledge of strategies & tools that can support efforts to influence policy and augment responses to threats and violations of human rights online. Promoting and protecting right to Freedom of Expression (FoE), Right to Privacy (RTP) and Right to Information (RTI) are the core working areas. The workshop will include in its curriculum, Internet Rights are Human Rights (IRHR) and Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Advocacy.
