A subsidiary body of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the Commission on Science, Technology and Development (CSTD) meets for its 16th session from 3 to 7 June in Geneva.

The meeting is of particular importance to Internet rights advocates as it has on its agenda a range of global Internet governance issues, including the follow-up to and the +10 review of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Process. The Tunis Agenda, which has emerged as a central reference point in global Internet governance, was an outcome of an earlier Summit. The precise form that the WSIS+10 review will take and the role civil society will be allowed to play in it remained unclear at the start of the CSTD meeting.

Anja Kovacs will participate in the meeting as a civil society observer.
