Brainstorming Broadband: Developing a Roadmap for India

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and National Institute of Public Finance and Policy are organising a seminar on the state of broadband penetration in India. Nayantara Ranganathan from the Internet Democracy Project will attend the event.

The Seminar is intended to identify the roadblocks to broadband proliferation in the country with a view to find solutions and to help develop a vibrant broadband eco-system in the country. The Seminar will cover aspects such as availability of Internet bandwidth through BharatNet Project of the Government, availability of radio spectrum, Right-of-Way challenges and business viability of rural broadband. The Seminar will be attended by relevant Government Ministries, industry stakeholders, experts, academicians and civil society representatives.
