Roundtable on ICANN Accountability
Abstract
This roundtable is organised by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications and IT, Government of India in collaboration with the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) and the Centre for Communication Governance at National Law University, Delhi (CCG). The Internet Democracy Project is participating.
This is a closed-door, full day meeting of participants from diverse stakeholder groups, and the first initiative to engage Indian policymakers on ICANN issues in a structured manner.
The roundtable will consist of two sessions: the first focused on accountability aspects related to the ongoing IANA Transition and the second, centered on long term accountability concerns. This division is in line with the work streams created under the ICANN Accountability Charter.
