The event is hosted by Hackergram and is listed on Hasgeek events. The discussion will be focused on how to manage privacy concerns along with public health concerns .Tanisha Ranjit from the Internet Democracy Project will be speaking on the panel, along with other experts.
The role of big data in public health delivery and management has become starkly clear in recent times, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the same time, concerns around states and the private sector utilizing public health data platforms as a tool for mass surveillance and control are also growing.
The aim of the event was to find a balance between these two concerns and a better understanding of how citizens can engage with the democratic process to enable appropriate policies and standards in public health data systems.
