ORF-ICGAI Expert Workshop on AI Governance
Abstract
This two-day Expert Workshop on AI Governance is hosted by the Observer Research Foundation. Radhika Radhakrishnan will be speaking on ‘Equity v. Equality: Creating Just Global AI Principles.’
Artificial Intelligence, in concert with other emerging technologies, will create new pathways for development and disrupt the ways in which we interact with each other, with our governments and with our places of work. It is imperative that developing economies, therefore, forge AI governance structures and principles at home and globally, that are inclusive and future-leaning.
Discussions during the two-day workshop will cover issues under the themes of:
1) Just transformation of work and society
2) Building inclusive AI norms
3) Norms leadership from under-represented constituencies
Findings from the Expert Workshop will be presented at The First International Congress for the Governance of Artificial Intelligence (ICGAI), which will be held in Prague on 16 – 18 April, 2020. The Congress will bring together representatives from international organisations to academia, multinational companies, civil society, and technology entrepreneurs — working on the safe and ethical development and deployment of AI.
