An additional open consultation meeting has been called on the day preceding the start of the ITU WSIS+10 High Level Event, adding on to the five meetings that were held earlier. The Internet Democracy Project has been following the process closely as well as actively contributing to it, and is taking part in this final consultation as well.

The high-level event will review the progress made in the implementation of the WSIS outcomes under the mandates of participating agencies; will take stock of achievements in the last 10 years based on reports of all WSIS Stakeholders; and will start to develop a new vision beyond 2015.

The preparatory process is an open and inclusive consultation among WSIS Stakeholders (governments, private sector, civil society, international organizations and relevant regional organizations) focused on developing multistakeholder consensus on two draft outcome documents, the thematic aspects, and innovations on the format of the Event. The two draft outcome documents, to be developed during the open consultation process and submitted for consideration by the WSIS+10 High-Level Event are:

Draft WSIS+10 Statement on the Implementation of WSIS Outcomes

Draft WSIS+10 Vision for WSIS Beyond 2015 under mandates of participating agencies

The written contributions made to the fourth (as well as third and second) preparatory meeting by the Internet Democracy Project and others can be found here.

Proposals for the Vision Statement by the Chair of WSIS+10 MPP, Prof. Minkin, prepared in close collaboration with Anja Kovacs from the Internet Democracy Project, can be found there as well.

Written submissions the Internet Democracy Project made to the first preparatory meeting are available here.
